Leather 101 with Branch Line Leather Co.

February 11, 9:30 - noon

Top Grain? Suede? Veg Tan? Oil Tan? Tooling Leather? Have you ever wondered exactly how leather is made, how and where to buy it, or which type of leather is best for your project? This class is designed for leather beginners who want to leave knowing more than when they arrived. We’ll have lots of hides and samples of the most common leathers for you to check out.

We’ll start by talking about how leather is made and sold, the different types of leather available (and where to get them), and which type of leather is best for which project. You’ll also handle some basic leather tools and learn a few techniques to get you started.

In the second half of the class, we’ll practice our newfound skills at one of 5 make- and-take stations. You’ll choose two projects from the selection, each easily finished during the session, and perfect for gift giving.

$85 per person includes the seminar and two giftable make-and-take projects of your choice. Photos are examples of the great projects you can make!

Class switches or cancellations must be requested at least 48 hours before the class time. No refunds or reschedules will be issued for no-shows. If the class is canceled by Igloo Letterpress, registrants will be given a chance to reschedule to a different date or request a full refund.
